Mt Susong Dalaga and Mt Lagyo - A Twin Day Hike

Mt. Susong Dalaga (325+ masl) and Mt. Lagyo (396+ masl)

Located at the booming tourism of Brgy. Wawa, Rodriguez, Rizal a very popular hiking destination for mountain enthusiast. Rodriguez has a tons of mountain peak like Pamitinan, Binacayan, Hapunang Banoi, Ayaas, Sipit Ulang, Parawagan and many more.

We have planned a trilogy hike as a practice climb for our upcoming major events, but unfortunately things happen unexpected in the "kubo" so we ended to a twin hike.

4:00 am
We arrive in Jollibee Farmers at dahil wala pa yung dalawa (Chelsea and Shiela), nagbreakfast muna kame

5:30 am
We arrived at the registration area nagregister at pumirma ng waiver. And after a short prayer start trek na! The first part is mahabang gradual assault na spalto after minutes of ascending sobra pawis at hingal na agad kame :D

6:40 am
Arrival sa first kubo, maraming silang tinda, coffee, boiled egg, boiled saging saba, buko, softdrinks and many more dito ka mapapagastos sa mga kubo na may tindahan :D

Chelsea bumibili ng itlog

At the view deck

Most of the trail is established naman at easy.

View along the trail

At this point start na ng up and down hill sign na malapit na sa summit.
Make sure to wear sleeves to protect your skin from talahib.

Okay, recover at water break :D

Jen and she's back on the trail!
(After scaling Mt. Timbak 2,717 masl a 30 minute hike last August)

A portion of talahiban part and leads to summit

Don't notice yung anino

See that? The peak of Mt Susong Dalaga

Perks ng nahuhuli? :D

7:40 am
Arrived at summit!
Mabilisang photo ops dahil kasunod lang namin ang isang group, the summit can only accommodate a small group so hindi kame kasya lahat at walang masisilungan dahil walang puno.

Jen - Her first summit in this year Amihan season :D

Yung kasabay namin group is may dala silang isang pack ng Beagle.

Couple picture <3

Yes! After 2 hours our first summit!

Chelsea - 90% of her blood is coffee

Sheila - New found hiking friend (Masipag pag picture)

So after a quick solo and group pictures wala nang upo-upo resume hiking agad to our second peak Mt Lagyo.

8:35 am
Start na ng rocky trail and better to wear gloves dahil matatalim ang mga lime stone na kakapitan at aapakan.

The only good spot to take five :D may mauupuan na.

Sir Lito - Maasikaso and very helpful

Jen and Sheila approaching the Peak 1 of Mt Lagyo

Mt Lagyo is very very similar sa Mt Binacayan same na same ang trail matatalim na batong trail, pero mas mahabang sharp rocky trail ang Binacayan.

One of the view deck near the peak

Yes!

Konting push nalang and... Summit!

Di uso patag na summit dito :D yan na yun!

Very happy kame good weather kahit parang walang hangin sa taas

One of the sharp edge in Mt Lagyo peak

We spend an hour dito rest at nag early lunch na dahil gutom na at wala ng energy.

May moment kame habang nasa peak na "ano bang ginagawa natin dito?" in some point of view oo nga naman, imbes na nasa bahay nagpapahinga at kumakain ng masarap ehh nandun sa tuktok ng bundok, mainit, walang mapahingahan, tahimik at kame lang ang tao that time na parang anong meron haha? Pero that was it is, we are seeking for adventures and that is part of it a unique experience that can only be found in mountains with these down-to-earth friends.

Down ang dalawang softdrink an sarap kase malamig

Resume descend!

Yes this time nilabas na nila ang kanilang secret weapon, ang payong :D

Best kubo pahingahan on this place

So ayun ang trilogy naging twin hike nalang.
After ng bongang pahinga we decided na mag Karugo falls nalang.. kaso as per our guide mahina daw tubig kaya nag cottage nalang kame near Wawa River at nagpahinga then wash up narin.

All in all it's another unique experience, for us experienced hikers hindi naman siya ganun nakakapagod it's just tumaas na ang mga standards in terms of views hahaha kaya hindi na nagpush sa trilogy. If habol mo is a non crowded hiking place here sa Rodriguez, eto yun Rodriguez Trilogy v2 mountains.

I've been here four times for Mt Pamitinan, Mt Binacayan and two bike rides pero dahil ibang mountains naman ang inakyat ibang experience ulit. Tapos good mood pa yung partner mo it has been a long time na nakasama ko siya sa hiking na good mood haha (Peace). Minsan talaga parang mas okay pa ang small group sure solid kayo walang iwanan sa trail at dahil dun sure ang bonding at tawanan.
